The Predicament of a Singapore Voter...

Life is tough in Singapore. It is even more so during the elections. This is the time when you must sit back, think of all the important issues, and then decide who you think should run the country for the next five years... oops sorry, wrong country... first world democracy then lidat one... Rewind... back to Singapore elections... most people already know who they should vote. No brains required... the wallet does the thinking. Tough times fall on the Singaporean voter only after the elections... (I'm not talking about increases in public transport fare and GST... though that is tough too...) What's tough is, having conversations with friends... It usually goes lidat... Voter: Ey fren, hi hi... long time no see... wassup? Fren: Hi hi... election over liao hor? Voter: Ya... sian, have to vote... no holiday. Fren: Wah! You need to vote ah? I walkover, so no need. Who you vote ah? Voter: My vote is secret.
